Flu Vaccination Update- posted 12/11/12
We will no longer require the flu vaccination, but we do still strongly recommend that if your vet carries this vaccine, that you get your dog vaccinated. It can be a deadly virus, as we saw several years ago at the greyhound tracks, but not all vets carry the vaccine and some say they cannot get the vaccine. This seems to be determine by the remoteness of their location. I will keep my dogs vaccinated, mainly because of the influx of out-of-state and off-cape dogs during June and September.
Please talk it over with your veterinarian, to see what they recommend. Let them help you determine whether the vaccination is necessary for your dog.

Please be advised that there is a new dog illness threat... Canine Influenza. It is in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and other parts of Massachusetts.
Cape Cod veterinarians are advising clients to obtain the canine influenza vaccine before boarding their dogs, and they have asked kennela to require the vaccination.
The vets have advised that it can be a life threatening illness and that it can spread veryu easily and quickly. Therefore, KC's has decided to that we will ass this to our list of required vaccinations.
As of March 15, 2012, all dogs using our facility will be required to have canine influenza vaccination, along with rabies, distmper and kennel cough.
Please contact your veterinarian for more information.
